History of Classic Trolley
Classic Trolley has been crafting replica trolley cars and concession trailers for nearly 20 years. Since 1983 we have put more than 100 vehicles into service for a wide variety of customers. Virtually every one of the trolley vehicles and concession trailers we have built is still in service. Satisfied customers have vehicles in service in San Francisco, Honolulu, Alaska, Guam, Switzerland, and many other locations worldwide.
To ensure the utmost strength and safety, the upper body and sub- frame of our trolleys and concession trailers are built with 2" tube-steel sub-frame construction and 10-gauge hot-rolled steel fenders. All the glass in our trolleys is automotive safety glass, and all upper- body fasteners are corrosion-resistant stainless steel. The original car we built is a replica of the California Street cable car of San Francisco; this design has been carrying passengers safely since the late 1800s. We welcome customer input, and because each trolley is built to order, custom options are easily integrated. One of these customer requests brought about the Electric Trolley (ET-1) in 1996.
We developed our own version of the double-decker trolley in 1999. The Penny Lane Double-Decker is easily customizable for use in a wide variety of climates. For maximum profit, each double-decker seats up to 60 passengers.
We also produce a full line of trolley concession trailers. These eye-catching trailers have been put in service as espresso stands, hot dog stands, ticket booths, executive dining cars, and a variety of other uses. Each trailer can be easily customized to meet various service requirements. Our vehicles differ from the majority of the competition in that much of our vehicles' interiors is handcrafted from the finest hardwoods. Other brands are mostly metal. It is impossible to get an 1890s look with metal. We use large quantities of solid oak, handmade poplar ribs for the roof and automotive paints for a hard, glossy finish that is easy to clean. Our graphics department can re-create your logo for an attractive, eye-catching display in solid brass and 22k gold.
We are very proud of our entire team of craftspeople; to them this is not just a job, but also a part of who they are. There is nothing like touching and feeling the real thing when it comes to this kind of quality. We invite you to come to our Medford plant in Oregon, beautiful Rogue Valley to touch, drive, and experience a trolley like no other.
All of the components we purchase are from nationally known manufactures and meet all current Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. We apply the FDA's Good Manufacturing Practices guidelines to all of our food-vending trailers' design and construction.
"We make getting there half the fun". |
